Port Edwards School Forest

Port Edwards has a long history of recognizing the

importance of forests as an economical and cultural

resource.  The Port Edwards School Forest is a diverse learning environment that provides the opportunity to enhance and

expand student and teacher learning.  Tying curricular content

areas together through environmental education is an effective method to increase student achievement as well as create

environmentally literate students.  One of the methods to help students to become environmental stewards is through

participation in classroom and field experiences that focus on

environmental standards and benchmarks.  Our primary goal is to enhance students’ knowledge in order to become actively

engaged in environmental issues.
